Middle West District Programs (2024 – 2025)

“Excellence in Music Education”
September 3  9:45 a.m. – Noon  (Host: Elesha Wey, Lima OH)

Join us as we begin our year and strive to excel as teachers by encouraging and learning from each other. At our first meeting, we’ll discuss the elements that go into a thriving studio and the many ways that it can look both administratively and in continuing education but, most importantly, with our students.

“Setting Up Students of All Ages from Success”
October 1 9:45 a. m. – Noon (Host: Dee Fisher @ St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Van Wert)

We will discuss different teaching strategies to allow success to breed success. Come, share, and learn new ideas to motivate you and your students!

“How to Practice”
November 5  9:45 am – Noon (Location: Riley Creek Baptist Church, 4950 Township Rd. 27, Bluffton OH/Host: Vickie Mills)

“Have you practiced this week?” How many times have we teachers asked our students that? But have you ever taught the skill of practicing to your students? Dee Fisher will present some ideas to help us help students learn the intricate skill of practice, and we can all share what we do to encourage student practice.

“Adult Learners”
March 4  9:45am – Noon  (Hosts: Krysti & Phil Schey, Bluffton OH)

​Adult learners are a unique set of students, with varying backgrounds in music and schooling and interesting goals as they start music lessons. Dee Fisher believes adults are some of the most fun and interesting students we can have in our studios. Let’s all check out the joy of adult students!

“Music is Life”

What does that even mean? How do we incorporate our passion into our lives successfully? Join us as Jill Coston shares with us her life in music.

“Conference 2025”
